I was about 6 months into my real estate career when things started to spin out of control. we would go to bed during night meditative about a things we didn’t get finished that day. we would feel bad since we didn’t get to lapse that call or make strike with a new customer and a zillion other small things we usually didn’t have adequate time to take caring of. The some-more successful we got, a some-more out of control we felt. Sound familiar?
I remember so vividly a day it strike me how bad things had become. After being on a working/selling binge for weeks, we was sleepy and curved so we motionless to cocktail down for a discerning revisit with my mother. She usually lived 10 mins divided though we hadn’t been there in ages. When we got there my sister was visiting as well. My mom had run to a store and my sister put a kettle on.
Immediately we grabbed a residence phone to make a integrate of calls, as a dungeon accepting was diseased in her area. While we was on a phone we looked around and saw all these failing bouquets of flowers. we asked my sister what all a flowers were for. She gave me that comparison sister demeanour and said, oh it was Mom and Dad’s 50 anniversary final week. we contingency have looked repelled though she didn’t stop there. She sensitive me that I’d also missed mom’s birthday and on tip of all that, apparently I’d also missed Mother’s Day, that had been a prior Sunday. Shame on me!
I stayed for a bit and afterwards went home and vowed that my life would change for a good. we pulled out my business devise and saw that we was good forward of my business goals, so we motionless to work on some personal goals. One of a initial things we did was put in a three-week holiday for my children and me. we also put in some personal goals – such as, this would be a year we would learn to swim. At initial peek that doesn’t seem to have most to do with removing listings and creation money, though trust me it does! It forced me to find a approach to find time for my business, my family and for myself.
This whole practice led to a growth of my real estate systems that liberated me from a nonstop work gait I’d created. we still use them to this day. we cgange them and am constantly improving them. we have used these same systems as training modules for many sales reps over my 15-year career as a attorney and now as a trainer. we have seen a formula and they’ve been zero brief of amazing.
We’re in an attention that moves during break-neck speed on delayed days and we can get so bustling holding caring of a zillion small things that we forget to take caring of ourselves. The vigour of removing and servicing listings can be abrasive in some-more ways than one. So when we strech a indicate where we feel like giving up…give in instead. Pause, take a exhale and relax, giveaway your mind, have a crater of coffee or a potion of booze and unequivocally take a good, honest demeanour during how we got to this point.
It took a missed birthday, anniversary and Mother’s Day for me to comprehend we was too bustling being bustling to take caring of a things that unequivocally mattered. We all have people who count on us in one approach or another and if we don’t take caring of yourself, how can we take caring of them? So, take caring of yourself first, give yourself a break, some you-time, since we merit it! Heaven knows you’ve warranted it.
